Google Glass, the most futuristic gadgets out there. It went on sale to the general public for just one day, with whopping cost of $1,500!
But how much does it cost to make Glass? Well Teardown.com says its around 80$ for the things stuffed inside but this is the first estimate of the bill of materials.

Bill of Materials Estimate |
Well we all know Google has worked hard on their Glass. Fitting all these things into a small, wearable device may add a lot more to Google’s costs. The Glass is also assembled in California, which is typically more expensive to produce manufactured products than parts of Asia where most of the mobile devices are built.
Then there are uncounted design costs including the engineers, employees that should be likely paid a good amount by Google, who have worked on Glass since 2011.
A Google spokesman called Teardown.com’s cost estimate “absolutely wrong.” He declined to comment further.
Also Teardown team states,'Costing is at time of teardown. Glass is an estimate only since the device has not been fully analysed - final estimate is expected to be different'
We hope that the final product would cost much lesser than $1,000 atleast as mass production would cost lesser.
