Micromax launched its Yureka smartphone today, it's a part of the new Yu series of phone made in collaboration with Cyanogen.
The main game here is the partnership with Cyanogen, now Micromax has exclusive rights over the OS in India, and this is the reason why OnePlus One got banned in India which were shipped using a Cyanogen OS.
The Cyanogen OS 11 build is based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and an Android 5.0 Lollipop-based build is promised.
Co-founders of Cyanogen Inc, Kurt McMaster and Steve Kondik, appeared at the event via webcast, and Other Cyanogen executives present at the event spoke of the 'personalisation, security, performance' of the ROM.
Yu users will be able to modify icons, fonts, boot screen animation etc also Cyanogen said users will be able to edit and customise permissions of each app along with other basic security features.
The Yureka phone will feature an unlockable bootloader, kernel source, and full Android build tree. Mainly Micromax claims warranty will not be void on rooting the smartphone. Pretty cool for every core Android Lover!
