We see smartphones in everyone’s hand these days, we don’t really give it much thought, except that it is possible that the next iPhone 4 you see could really be a taser in disguise!
Australian customs have recently seized a batch of weapons that have originated from China.
This cache of around 6,000 weapons included fake iPhone 4 units that looked like iPhones, but were actually tasers. They had built-in mechanisms at the top of the phone that had the ability to deliver electric shocks.
Don’t know where they were planning to sell them nor how lethal are they. Smartphones are so common these days that no one would even notice these on the street until it is too late. A 43-year old man from Thomastown, Victoria has been arrested. If he is found guilty, he could be facing a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $394,000 fine.
Glad that they got these off the streets as Tasers are some notorious gadgets. They have been known to kill people as well as just stun them. It is bad enough that some folks with bad intentions carry them around, with the iPhone 4 taser in disguise.
