Google fined $2,250 for showing Boobs on Street View.

It's no big deal that we could find crazy, random stuffs on Google Street View. But in this case, boobs were unfortunate capture for Google and now the company has to pay for it.

Back in 2009, Maria Pia Grillo looked up her Montreal house on Google Street View and found an image of herself sitting on her porch, hunched over in such a way that a good bit of her cleavage was forever recorded and available on the Web. The image did blurred her face, but the rest of the image; like her house revealed enough information to easily discern whose boobs belong to the blurred face.

Now almost after two years after the discovery, Pia began legal proceedings to blur all identifying information out of the image, the whole house and it's surrounding. She also demanded $45,000 for emotional damage and depression caused by mockery.

The judge decided that the Street View image did not have a provable connection to Grillo’s claimed emotional distress, but did agreed to the fact that Google invaded her privacy just because she was in a public place (outside her home), does not mean her privacy can be invaded. He ordered Google to pay out $2,250, interest, and $159 in court fees.

Well, let's hope some crazy women won't imitate the same and try to get some cash for themselves, also it's a lesson for Google to start blurring more of such images as I am sure there are so many boobs out there!

A Guy loaded Windows 95 on his Samsung Gear Live Smartwatch!

This brilliant guy loaded up a full version of Windows 95 on his Samsung Gear Live. No doubt it's super cool.

So.., the OS is kinda operational but runs real slow and RAM gets exhausted as soon as we try opening up an application. This isn't a full time solution, also developing further isn't a smart step, but just to demonstrate such possibility is enough.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Windows running on Android devices, although this is definitely the smallest device to do so (and that counts)

Back in 2010, someone ported this popular operating system to a general Android device using 2 different emulators.

Humanoid robot learning to control a real Flight Simulator

You might have seen robots of various types doing various tasks but this one is outstanding! This robot can fly a plane designed for humans!

No doubt it would be simpler to build a robotic control system into a plane rather than have a humanoid robot. But this is just an example to show how precisely this robot can perform tasks.

Chinese city introduces the first smartphone sidewalk lane!

Roads with cycle lanes are normal but in the near future sidewalks you might see something different...
In the Chinese city of Chongqing, they have created the first sidewalk lane, for people who are using their phones while they are still walking!

We’ve all experienced the annoyance of walking in the vicinity of someone using their smartphone, atleast I did. Typical behavior includes walking all over the place, variations in speed or sudden stopping, bumping into you because they aren’t looking where they are going or talking loudly and gesturing wildly forcing you to get out of the way!

Chongqing has created the 50-meter long sidewalk lane to remind people that using your phone while walking is dangerous as you won't be concentrating on whats going on around you!

Such a lane, if it meant you could walk without having to navigate around smartphone users and therefore get to your destination more quickly, could prove popular in the more built up areas of the world. Not sure if the people would actually walk perfectly into that lane perfectly or accidentally switch the lane n cause same problem again lol

Stanford develops a tiny radio, the size of an Ant, which is powered wirelessly!

Stanford engineer Amin Arbabian has managed to create a wireless radio just a few millimeters across that is so energy efficient that it doesn’t need a battery! Instead, it harvests power from the incoming electromagnetic waves. The extremely low cost and small size of this technology means you could soon be surrounded by tiny radio chips in an interconnected mesh network.

The Stanford radio chip is designed to compute, execute, and relay signals. Arbabian sees this chip as the possible missing link in the so-called Internet of Things. If you want your lightbulbs to be connected to your other devices, you don’t need a high-power wireless radio–this one would do just fine. It uses so little power a single AAA battery could power it for more than 100 years.

The components built into the Stanford radio are similar to a typical Bluetooth or WiFi radio, but much smaller and more efficient. The antenna is particularly notable as it’s one-tenth the size of a standard WiFi antenna. The receiving antenna is where wireless signals are utilized to generate power–probably through inductive technology. Eliminating the need for an external power source essentially means this solid state circuit has unlimited usable life.

Arbabian had 100 of these pint-sized radio chips fabricated for testing, and they work exactly as predicted. With a cost of just pennies per unit, Arbabian sees a future where one of these radios-on-a-chip will be scattered throughout a home every meter or so, making it into one big network.

Twitpic is Shutting Down as Twitter Killed it Clean!

Twitpic is now shutting down on September 25th, but not because it couldn’t compete with Twitter’s own image service but because Twitter is killing it dead!

In a blog post announcing the service closure, Twitpic’s Noah Everett notes "Twitter contacted our legal demanding that we abandon our trademark application or risk losing access to their API." The move shocked Everett "since Twitpic has been around since early 2008, and our trademark application has been in the USPTO since 2009." Twitpic doesn’t have the resources to battle Twitter legally and Everett has decided to shut down Twitpic instead.

Not a new case as Twitter had taken an aggressive stance on third-party Twitter clients over the past couple of years, forcing many to close down or charge users for access to their API. Back in 2008 Twitter was a growing service and it was a free-for-all for developers, things have changed abruptly as it got famous!

National Archives reveals the 1955 Video Phone, making a Retro Video Call!

The National Archives blog recently released a video clip showing one of the first video phones from 1955.

This phone was really a futuristic gadget at that time that costs $5000 during 1955 ($43,000 today) and included a dial-tone! (rather than an operator).

“Demonstrated for the first time, the videophone, with two-way picture screens enabling the parties to see, as well as speak to, each other. As simple to operate as today’s dial tone. The videophone included a small screen so that women could ‘primp’ before placing their calls. A mirror would have been less costly and more effective.” - Network World

Welcome to a Random post from the Internet!

PornHub has just published their breaking down the statistics of those who visit their site and it's clear that Android users watch more porn than iPhone, atleast on their website lol.

Android smartphone users account for nearly 50% of PornHub’s phone traffic.
Apple’s iPhone at for 40%.
Windows phones at 2.3%.
Blackberry phones at a negligible 1.81%

While in tablet useage, the Apple iPad Seems grabbing the first position!
Apple iPad users at 77% , that's huge.
Android tablets at 22%.
Windows Surface at 0.4%.
Blackberry tablets at 0.6%.

The Source Link given below has much more data, some bind blowing stats that includes data from Desktop Traffic to Game Consoles!
Also the number of page views per visit even the average duration spent on that site! They call it "The Stamina" lol
Then they have the top search terms data with respect to devices
& Lastly the country wise traffic data according to the OS, the USA seems to love this site too much!
